Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a world-renowned national laboratory in the United States. It is one of the world’s largest research institutes. Founded in 1943, more than 10,000 employees with a budget of 2.6 trillion won, an extensive research is conducted including nuclear power plants, materials, bio, aerospace, national security, nano exploration, renewable energy, medicine, and supercomputers. It is a national laboratory under the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). It is also the place where the world’s first nuclear bomb was developed through the Manhattan Project during the World War II.
